While it might seem almost reminiscent of a recluse, Alan lives in the attic above his shop. He will be the first to inform any that come to the conclusion that he is a recluse that it is quite the contrary: Alan does get out and about to have a little fun every now and then, and having his home above his shop is simply a matter of convenience on his part. Because of the fact that his living space is so close to his work space, Alan always keeps the door locked and heavily warded.

If anyone is ever invited into this portion of Alan's living space, one will find all the furnishings and trappings of a home fit for a muggle-born wizard. Some areas typical of a traditional home are downsized, particularly the kitchen being a kitchenette and a down-scaled dining room. A flat-screen television hangs on the wall and a few game systems surround it. One long and comfortable-looking couch showing slight wear is parallel to the television. There is not much separating the kitchen, dining room, and living room.

Aside from the bathroom being sectioned off, Alan also has a decidedly walled-off reading room/office combo. Much like his kitchen, the area is slightly cramped. This is for to ensure there had been enough room for sleeping space.

Alan's bedroom is fairly spacious, though not nearly the size of a traditional bedroom. His bed folds out from the wall, and similarly his wardrobe is built into the walls as well. During Alan's first week in his new home, he kept opening his closet when he meant to pull out his bed. The color scheme of Alan's home is warm yet light with various shades of browns, blues, some yellow, and light spring green. Alan's House-Elf also lives up here, in a decidedly separate, smaller bedroom of sorts.

The attic does not have a balcony. If Alan wishes, he will use the second floor balcony to sit outdoors.

In the event someone wishes to pay a visit to Alan, yet his shop is closed, there is a doorbell on the front door on the ground floor to alert him to visitors.
