A shy middle child, Jocelin often finds herself overshadowed by her rebellious older brother and outgoing younger sister. Her mother, Jacqueline, got addicted to pain potions after her difficult third pregnancy and as a result, home life is not the most stable as her father has been forced to look for a job to support the family as well as his wife's treatment for her condition.
While not popular at school, Jocelin isn't exactly unpopular, either -- she's more of a wallflower. An average student, she aspires to one day open a bed and breakfast in wizarding Paris.

Julian is a workaholic with a tendency to take very dangerous risks. It's not that he's stupid -- quite the contrary -- it's that he is determined to make his Mark on the world, no matter the cost. This has lost him his family, and although he is by no means unaffected by that loss, it has only made him work even harder in a bid to get them back by proving he did the right thing all along.

The product of his mother's infidelity, Julian did not have an easy go of it growing up. The only person he could really depend on was his older brother, who, after the death of their mother, is now his only real family left.
Upon his arrival at Durmstrang, Julian did everything he could do succeed in his classes, knowing that getting a good jo after graduation was his only hope at a better life.
Unfortunately, his workaholic tendencies caused his marriage to crumble when he started posing as a halfblood in order to take a job with Vinzent Zolnerowich. This was too much for his Muggleborn wife, who took their young daughter Violet away in an effort to keep her safe from whatever backlash he might face if and when his lies come to light. This has only made him work harder, and start toying with the idea of joining the Sangreal to bring Vinzent down from the inside in an effort to win his wife back -- an idea he has not yet been able to make reality, being too dangerous, even to him.

Personality:
Etienne's unusual upbringing has created a man either hated or loved by those who know him. Those who hate him call his ideals the extreme posturings of a fashionable playboy more interested in fine wines and women than in running the country. Those who love him remark upon his zest for life and unwillingness to compromise his values in the face of adversity. Outgoing, ambitious, certainly extravagant, and ultimately well-meaning, Etienne comes with many vices and many virtues, but one thing is for certain -- for better or worse, his actions have already begun to change the political landscape of France. Whether or not the revolutionary spirit will catch on remains to be seen, but history will certainly set him down amongst the movers and shakers of the time.

Nicknamed "The Revolutionary" by the French press, Etienne models himself after various magical and muggle visionaries such as Nelson Mandela and Albus Dumbledore. Believing that the path of least resistance can only be the path of least reward, he instead favours more extreme action, at least in the case of the anti-muggle movement. He believes that the time is ripe to overthrow the Statute of Secrecy for good, believing as a result of his own upbringing that the mingling of the Muggle and the magical can only be to mankind's mutual benefit.

His own lineage is a perfect microcosm of the conflict; the first son of a wealthy pureblood father and poor Muggle mother, Etienne grew up seeing and believing in the best of both worlds. Lisle first caught Henri's eye as she worked out in the fields where he'd come to play quidditch with his brother at their summer estate. With her beautiful long blonde hair and vibrant green eyes, it was no wonder why, and the soft-spoken nature and kind-hearted ways which accompanied her natural beauty soon sealed the deal for him. His father's family, at first displeased at their son's choice in a wife, grew to appreciate and finally accept Lisle as their own, and this is Etienne's goal for France and the world at large.

Time and time again, he has seen it proven that love is the strongest tie that binds, and so while he works to get the Statute thrown out, he has encouraged the magical citizens of France to open their hearts and homes to Muggles. If legislation fails, he hopes that with a rapidly-growing hybrid population, the Statute will fade away on its own, relagated to the category of numerous other laws which have become outdated with time.

"Outgoing" does not quite cover it suffiently. A slightly spoiled youngest child, Lainey has no problem speaking her mind, and as a bright student, she does so well. Her marks probably would have earned her the Head Girl spot had she been better behaved; she has a marked disregard for rules that "don't make sense" and is no stranger to detentions.
She used to get teased when she was younger for "looking like an alien" but now that she's older, she gets really annoyed when people don't take her seriously because of how she looks. A tall girl, rather thank trying to slouch and wear flats to hide her height, she embraces it fully, teasing her older sister about her height deficiency. She also prefers to go by the nickname "Lainey," rather than her given name. Only her mother gets away with calling her Melania.

The age gap (nearly ten years) between her and her nearest sibling has always made it clear that Melania's birth was a surprise, albeit a welcome one. Since her siblings were already off at school while she was very young, she had a rather indulgent childhood and is a tad spoiled as a result. Luckily, the example of her deepy unpleasant cousins prevented any serious harm coming of her parents' indulgence.

Her own natural ambition did the rest; much like her older sister Calixta, Melania has no desire to live off of her parents' gold for the rest of her life. Rather, it is her secret dream to one day be a professional quidditch player -- a dream ever-more likely to become reality, as she was recently named Captain of the Ravenclaw quidditch team. Having spent all summer conditioning and training for the upcoming season, she's more than ready to bring the quidditch cup to Ravenclaw after a close second-place finish last year.
