-How I act-
Personality: The impression most people get from Ariadne is one of extreme shyness. The truth is, people see her the way she wants them to, and the less people know about her, the better. In reality, she is not at all shy, but extremely cold and distant, finding most people to be below her notice unless they can be useful to her in some way. The moment their usefulness ends is the moment she walks away without a backwards glance.
-History-
Your Story Please? Ariadne endured a rather neglectful childhood at the hands of her parents, who were always too busy for her. She always got the impression they'd only had her in order to fulfil their duty to produce pureblood children and then got bored with parenting, and so stopped at only one child. Hers was a lonely existence, roaming the moors of her parents estate while they were off at various parties and balls, and places children weren't invited to go.
During one of their trips, she discovered a secret room hidden behind a painting, which contained all kinds of dark magical objects. Ariadne smuggled an ancient tome on necromancy out into the heath and, stealing a wand from a servant girl, began amusing herself by learning spells from its pages. Her theft was never discovered, and to this day, she still keeps the old wand as a memento of her only happy childhood memories -- for after a certain age, her father did finally began to take notice of her, and she wished he never had. Her mother was only jealous of her daughter's burgeoning beauty, and so Ariadne was left defenceless.
Her Hogwarts letter came just in the nick of time, although getting sent away to live with other children was a shock to her system. Having never learned to play nicely with others, she found herself in detention often for bullying other children. With her natural disregard for the rules, it didn't take her long to start sneaking off into the Forbidden Forest, where she met Corvus Darrow for the first time. Ariadne was immediately enamoured with the older boy's good looks, as well as the fact that she caught him doing dark magic.
Knowing she wasn't alone made her bolder in her practices, and she perfected her magic-siphoning skills over that next summer on the half-Muggle son of yet another unfortunate servant. Because the boy was very young, and had been otherwise unharmed by the spell, her actions were never detected at the time, and the boy was simply assumed to be a Squib.
After graduating from Hogwarts, Ariadne disappeared completely for a few years, resurfacing only recently after her parents' mysterious deaths. No one knows where she went, and it seems like it'll stay that way for the moment being, as Ariadne only has one close confidant, and Corvus Darrow isn't talking about his troubled young companion.
