Personality: Devin is a brash young man who keeps several of his emotions on the surface for all to see. He doesn’t like people to see when he’s sad or hurt, but if he is happy, angry, envious, or even in the throes of something that might be love – it’ll be plain to see. He likes parties, good music, almost any sport, and martial arts. He has an ear for a good story or a joke to share, and has no problem spreading the word. In fact, the problem lies in getting him to shut up! He is a flirt when around the ladies... and it only gets worse as his sobriety lessens.

The Sorting Hat did not just chuck this rambunctious young man into Ravenclaw for no reason. Devin, although with a tendency to leap before looking, is a smart kid. He thinks and plans things through when he is calm, for good or ill, and does have a thirst for knowledge. It and several other traits (such as his “straight O’s” in Care of Magical Creatures and Herbology) are often merely hidden behind a jock-like exterior.



Your Story Please? Devin’s parents moved from England back to Caitlin’s native Ireland when he was born. His father worked as a photographer in both magical and muggle worlds. His mother is a healer. An uncle of his, on the muggle side, taught him martial arts. An aunt taught him a smattering of Gaelic. His grandparents tried to teach him how to play an instrument, but that didn’t go over at all like they’d hoped and planned.

Although there are nine years splitting him and September-Rose apart, Devin has always felt the need to protect her since the moment he could walk and talk. This duty expanded to include his younger sister of three years, Kelly. He defended Kelly from a trio of bullies when they were in muggle primary school, and has since made it his oath to protect her and pummel any that would harm her into a rich, bloody pulp. He tended to pick fights at school, and was suspended once for breaking another boy’s nose. During Devin’s time away from the school a relative taught him martial arts and how to control his strength in an attempt to temper his will to fight. Much like the music lessons, it backfired: Devin became more of a scrapper than ever before.

It was a few months after term started that he finally received his Hogwarts letter, turning eleven in December. Mixed feelings awaited him: on the one hand, he was excited to be going to this new school. On the other, he hated to leave Kelly unprotected. All turned out well, though, and in no time she received her own letter and now attends Hogwarts with him.

Devin is currently in his fifth year, with Kelly in her second, and the lad is just as protective as he ever was. In times of trouble, mischief, or joy, Devin only has one thing to say: let’s get this party started!
