Relief and Pinapples

Liara was moved into a hospital bed by two nurses, she had just been shot, right in the hip actually and it hurt like hell. A healer was to come and preform a spell to get the bullet out, it was in a rather bother someplace.. right by the bone. The bleeding had stopped, thanks to a spell by the Medi wizards on the way there. Further examination showed the buttet needed carefull removal. Merlin she couldn't wait to find out who did this.

In the mean time she had to wait..

"Don't worry minister, you'll be back on your feet and back to work in no time, tomorrow morning I promise" a young nurse said obviously trying not to act nervouse that she was tending to the minister of magic.

"Thank you dear" Liara muttered winceing as she tried to find a more comfortable position.

"Was anyone else shot? civilians auror's?" she asked.

"Not that I know of Ma'ma.. Oh Mr. Zolnerowich was shot in the shoulder, he should be coming here any moment as well" the nurse replied.

Liara groaned, just womderful.. she was going to be roomates with Vinzent Zolnerowich.. oh fun...

The moment Vinzent was away from prying eyes the wizard did nothing but complain about the pain in his shoulder. In front of Charisma, Julian, and even the entire world Vinzent donned a fearless mask incapable of expressing anything remotely similar to any form of pain. Once the audience was gone however... everything changed. Unfortunately pain or the threat thereof did not make Vinzent's disposition any sweeter.

A Healer reached toward Vinzent's injured shoulder to inspect the damage, only to have the wizard glare right back at him. "If you even think about it..." Vinzent growled, letting the threat hang.

"Well, I do need to look at and clean the wound, sir," the Healer replied matter-of-factly. It would have been a paternal sort of voice if not for the slight tremble of fear. Any trip Vinzent Zolnerowich made to the hospital that had nothing to do with a donation usually found the wizard in a bad mood that quickly earned himself a reputation. The Healer tapped his wand to Vinzent's robes and shirt to vanish them.

Vinzent scowled at the Healer, ignoring the nurse that was now attempting to assist him into a hospital smock for modesty's sake. She left the one end deliberately off-the-shoulder so the Healer could examine it. Now that they could see the wound, it was almost no wonder that Vinzent complained so: his collarbone had been broken, with a good part of it having protruded through the skin.

The Healer immediately set to work, magically scanning the injury. The bullet was lodged in Vinzent's clavicle, and was clearly the start of the breakages. As if a gunshot didn't hurt enough without all of this, too. The last thing Vinzent remembered hearing was an order from the Healer to bring pain relief potion and something to make him sleep.

Vinzent's hospital bed was hovered into the room approximately two minutes after the nurse had informed Liara of her impending roommate. The bed was propped up in a semi-sitting position. Its occupant seemed asleep, his head lolled to the left. Jet black hair curtained his face from view. The wizard's right arm was in a sling and the shoulder of said arm was covered by bandage instead of hospital smock - the nurse had forgotten to adjust it.

The slightest jolt of the hospital bed coming to a stop jerked Vinzent out of his slumber. "OW!" he shouted, left hand immediately reaching for his right shoulder. It was much too tender to touch and therefore kept his hand more toward the bullet's entry wound than the break to his collarbone. "Watch where you're going! Are you a Healer or not?!"

"I'm a nurse."

"Well, go back to school and start over again! You clearly weren't paying any attention!"

"I'm sorry, sir."

"'Sorry' isn't good enough! Your negligence has got this blasted thing started up again!" Vinzent raged, pointing with his chin to his shoulder.

The nurse was clearly holding back from rolling her eyes. "What is your pain on a scale of one to ten, sir? With ten being the worst?"

"Fifty," Vinzent replied, a venomous leer poking out through the pain.

"Very well, sir..." the nurse sighed. A small dose of pain relief didn't take enough of the edge off for this patient, or so it had been claimed. All Zolnerowich did was complain when he was a patient here. The nurse should know: she'd tended to him once before. Now it was time for a little harmless payback... She measured out a slightly larger dose than was necessary and handed the goblet to him.

Vinzent took the goblet, downed the whole dosage in a gulp, and roughly handed it back to the nurse. Several moments passed in silence as if the wizard and his caregiver were in a sort of stare-down, minus the eye-contact. The index finger of Vinzent's left hand impatiently tapped against his thigh. "You may go. Now," he ordered, sending a glare to the nurse.

"I'll check on you in a few minutes," the nurse muttered coolly as she made her way for the door.

"How about a pureblood that actually graduated from Medi-Magic School next time?!" Vinzent snapped. Almost immediately the wizard sensed he still wasn't alone... With a grunt of pain he turned his head, finding none other than yet another nurse and Minister Liara Lightle herself.

'Just perfect...' Vinzent mused darkly. The wizard hoped for someone's sake that there was a perfectly logical and damn good reason for their choice in his roommate.

The young nures was suddenly relieved she was treating Minister Liara, as this other guy was one of the difficult ones.

"I will give you something for the pain minister, the healer will be here soon I promise." she assured as she messured out a modest amount of pain relief. Enough to be of help nicely.

"I am sorry you arn't in a private room, this room has been warded off for both your safety, only your families and autherised peronal are allowed in here. It was more effiecent to just ward this room instead of the seperate private rooms." she explained to the two patinece.

Liara drank her pain relief potion, though she doubted it would help much.. she was becoming immune to general pain relief potions. " Thank you Nurse?' Liara paused wondering the nurse's name.

"Ah Call me, Carrie, shale I close the curtain to give you two some privicey?" she asked the two.

Liara sighed, the last person she want to see her ridden on a hospital bed was Vinzent, yet she imagined he felt the same.. Merlin hoped Gage or her father would come up soon, anyone was better then being alone with Vinzent...

"Yes please.. if her wishes as well" she said.

Vinzent sulked as he watched Liara and her nurse. It almost pleased him that his nurse got to the pain relief potion before Liara's did, but he was still sore (literally!) at said nurse for jostling the bed. The wizard scowled as Liara's nurse - named Carrie: a fact he'd forget via disinterest long before she left - explained the rooming situation. Their logic may have been considered more efficient, but that didn't mean Vinzent had to like it. That would also mean he'd have to tolerate not just one mixed-blood, but several. There was also that mudblood that Liara fancied, who despite his new teaching position would surely come to the hospital and make Vinzent's stay even more miserable than it was already.

"Yes. Please do..." Vinzent grumbled sourly at the offer to pull the curtain. He adjusted the smock to cover the bandages on his shoulder so Liara wouldn't see, even though it was much too late now. Although an over-dramatization Vinzent considered the situation a nightmare. Liara was one of the last people he wanted to bear witness to this scene of weakness.

An audible sigh somewhere between a measure of relief and exasperation left the wizard's lips once the curtain was drawn. A part of Vinzent hoped for visitors as he didn't want to be left alone in here with Liara. He wanted some pureblooded company. Yet on the other hand that meant displaying his present weakness. At the moment, the thought of Liesel Evian's company far outweighed the blow to his pride.

Vinzent turned his head with a stifled shout of pain. Everything from his upper chest to his head was agony to move. "Muggle wands should be forever banned," the wizard declared, though his intended audience was unclear. He wished the potion would start to take effect soon...

Liara looked up at the ceiling once her nurse left and the cutain was closed, already bored and wished she could go home to Gage and have this over with. But sadly she couldn't get what she wanted this time. She wanted to see Gage... yet subjecting him to the company of Vinzent Zolnerowich who was in an even more sour mood then usual wasn't to appealing either.

Then at Vinzents declaration about "muggle wands " Liara scratched her head "Muggle wands? kind of a contriction to call them that Zolnerowich. And generally only a muggle would carry one, and a armed muggle in the ministry of magic? Unheard of, wouldn't get passed the wards.... " she explained still trying to work out how the shooting occured, however it was difficult to think straight with a bullet in her side.

"What I mean to say is... Guns, that is was it was called, shouldn't be able to get in the building, much less shoot it" she said with a sigh feeling another headache coming on on top of her shot side... so much to the pain killer.

"I don't care what they're called, they shouldn't be allowed in our world or theirs," Vinzent returned. The sour look upon his face had permeated into his voice. He wasn't in the mood to discuss how appropriate his terminology had been. In fact Vinzent tended to tune out lectures on appropriateness as a whole. "I propose a security amendment that requires the personnel to be educated on the matter and a regulation to confiscate any and all muggle weaponry upon entry to the Ministry or other political event." If Vinzent was going to be stuck in a room with Liara, he was at least going to attempt to accomplish something more than irritate the heck out of her.

A sigh of restless relief left the wizard then. It seemed as though the pain in Vinzent's shoulder had suddenly melted away. 'About time!' he mused and closed his eyes, glad that the potion finally seemed to be taking effect. For several moments Vinzent allowed the sensation of not being in pain to wash over him in bliss. It was a good thing he had closed his eyes: the potion began to make him feel a little dizzy...

Liara rolled her eyes, yet as much as she hated to admit it he was right about the security precautions.. " You don't need to tell me.. way ahead of you" she muttered. Really the way he was going on you would think he was the only one to get shot.

She blinked when she heard is sigh of relief, and could help feel relieved at well, hopefully he would stop making demands of her and snap a lid on it.

She looked at the clock wondering when she could be wheeled out of here or if she could get other visitors at least... Anyone could be better the her current company.

Even from behind his eyes, Vinzent still felt dizzy. And now that the pain was no more, he felt sleepy. His awareness of the amount of time that passed was hazy. The wizard wove between being awake and asleep. Only Merlin knew for sure how long it had been before Vinzent finally woke and stayed conscious. A moan of pain escaped him when he tried to use his right arm. Lifting his left arm, Vinzent sleepily rubbed his eyes before opening them...

“What the bloody effing hell?!” he shrieked, eyes wide and staring up at the ceiling. Wildly, he glanced around the room. There was a curtain, which told him two things: he was in a hospital, and he wasn’t alone. On a hovering table-tray there was a paper cup with a straw. Slowly and carefully Vinzent reached for it, took a drink, and set it back down.

“What kind of hospital is this?!” the wizard muttered darkly. After a few moments, he remembered with some resentment the person who should be on the other side of the curtain. “Lightle... whatever you do, if you must move, do so slowly and cautiously. There are pineapples on the ceiling... and I’d rather not be falsely accused of bludgeoning the Minister of Magic to death with acorns...”

Liara was started out of her dozing when Vinzent shrieked, "Now what?" she muttered more to her self waiting for more complaining and shouting about the poor hospital that had the misfortune of having this wizard as a patient.

However Vinzent Zolnerowich's next statement sounded so odd Liara wasn't sure what to make of it..

"What?" She asked confused as it sounded like something very unlike him to say, it was much to silly..

"What the bloody hell are you going on about Zolnerowich?" she asked sitting up slightly with a odd look on her face. "This your idea of a joke? pineapple and Acorns?..." she asked though she severely doubted it.. She couldn't think any other reason he would say something like that.
