Personality:
A foul-mouthed, sarcastic, and quick-tempered American teenager, Aurora – or Rory, as she is more commonly called – is the middle child of two new-age Muggles. As both of her siblings are thoroughly non-magical and "normal," Rory's moodiness, affinity for black attire and propensity for locking herself into her room with her spell books have left her family with the mistaken impression that she's a practicing Wiccan -- an impression which she never bothered to correct, as it suited her needs.
Given a fairly wide berth as a result, Rory was able to have the run of her native Boston, staying out late and making trouble with her ragtag group of misfit friends.
Her upbringing has made her very world-wise for someone so young, and quite self-sufficient. She has a talent for charming people out of their dollars with her broken-down guitar and a surprisingly sweet singing voice at odds with her gritty appearance. She also has a knack for pick-pocketing and small-time thievery as well as dealing in a variety of illicit substances, from banned love potions to more ordinary, muggle items. 
Although her demeanour does not generally suggest great warmth of heart, she's actually extremely loyal and protective of her loved ones. Her grouchy exterior at home is more to protect her parents and siblings than to keep them out, though of course they don't realise it. 



Your Story Please?
The first years of Aurora Holland's life were thoroughly uneventful. The middle child to an average if slightly quirky middle-class family in Boston, she was happy and well-loved; she took ballet lessons and loved to sing, and strange, miraculous things happened near her. Flowers would suddenly bloom before her eyes, and birds sang with her just like in all of her favourite movies.  She was convinced she was the centre of the world until she was eight years old and her younger sister was born. Resilient, Rory soon bounced back from the disappointment of no longer being the centre of attention, lavishing affection on her baby sister just like the rest of her family.
Soon enough a letter came that would turn her life around -- an invitation to the Salem Institute of Magic, which explained all the strange occurrences of her idyllic childhood. Her family was not quick to understand, however, and only after throwing a temper tantrum replete with fireworks -- literally -- did they allow her to go. The damage was done; Rory felt like her family thought she was a "freak," and she began to rebel, angered by their hypocrisy. 
Becoming more and more distant from her family, Rory took more fully to the streets, sometimes disappearing for days or even weeks at a time. It was during one of these extended absences that she was cornered by a werewolf while walking back to her then-boyfriend's apartment after playing a gig; Johnny died, but Rpry managed to survive the attack, and only then just barely. In the back of her mind she felt responsible for his death, attributing her survival to the fact that the werewolf probably had its fill with John.
After receiving emergency medical help from a nearby hospital, Rory fled the country, knowing that she'd be forever outcast from the local wizarding community now that her new ailment was known. It was better for her family that they didn't know, and she so allowed them to assume she had died along with Johnny, her body dragged off somewhere else.
