No one knows for sure just what they will encounter upon entering the Muggle Studies classroom of Beauxbatons, as it changes every lesson to suit the purposes of each lesson. In general it seems to truly be a hybrid that consists of one-part classroom and one-part middle-class muggle home: there are desks, but also rugs, antique wardrobes full to bursting with clothes, heavy-looking boxes, a kitchen-like area, and even a sort of “upstairs” balcony. The seating layout is typically in that of a crescent or circle, with Casual Fridays featuring cozy armchairs charmed to provide semi-corporeal desk spaces that may be walked through to deactivate the spell.

Near the door is a desk with pigeonhole shelving, in which students are expected to check their wands before finding their seats. Once the wand has been checked in, the desk opens up to reveal all manner of snacks and candies, with a sign encouraging students (regardless of year) to select one treat of their choice.
