Raymond Tasse’s Character Extras

About the Family
Ancestry: Raymond’s descends from a hearty French background, with a splash of British and Scottish here and there. The surname ‘Tasse’ comes from one of the influential Old Families from France, and is often associated with notions of money and power. Pureblood elitists would claim that Raymond’s specific ancestry has been tainted by his maternal line – at least his paternal great-grandfather managed to marry a British pureblood.

Family in General: Raymond’s family aren’t so focused on pureblood supremacy as in previous generations. All of the family lives in France, though Raymond himself did live in England for a short time with his now ex-wife, Audrey Bishop. Everyone in the family has attended Beauxbatons Academy, with the exception of those of English or Scottish descent who preferred Hogwarts. It is not uncommon for family elders to urge eligible members to marry and start a family.


Important Persons to Raymond:
Aurelie Tasse; Mother – Raymond has always been closest to his mother. She seemed to understand him, or at least pretended to, during most of his childhood and adolescence. It was also her tendency to spoil her sons so long as they remained well-behaved. When Pierre would destroy some muggle object of Raymond’s, Aurelie would try to find a way or hire someone to repair it, and then would return the item to Raymond when Pierre wasn’t in the room.

Pierre Tasse; Father – A complicated relationship exists between Pierre and Raymond – happy childhood memories and not-so-pleasant ones during teenage years. The acquisition of muggle artifacts has always been a major point of contention between the two. As a result, Raymond has been under the impression that Pierre is slightly resentful of Aurelie’s lack of pureblooded heritage. Pierre used to be an antiques appraiser, though only finds value in magical items. The destruction of items Raymond once suffered at the hands and wand of his father is the underlying reason why he keeps any thing or person he deems precious away from Pierre.

Glenna Pascal; Maternal Grandmother – Raymond is constantly amused by his grandmother, who hailed from Scotland. Never before had he seen a feistier woman and Glenna’s only become moreso with age. It would not be uncommon to see grandmother or grandson lobbing playful swipes at one another... with Glenna completely apathetic to the level of formality required of the situation.

Roland Tasse; Paternal Grandfather – Roland is the first person to show Raymond around the antique shop and take a great amount of time telling stories and the like about where the old items came from and how they work. Roland’s fascination with muggle things was swiftly transferred to Raymond. Roland is always the first to see a new muggle device found or procured by Raymond, and is the primary male family member he goes to for advice on anything.

Mathieu Tasse; Brother (deceased) – Despite the fact that Mathieu was the one obstacle to getting attention in childhood, Raymond was indeed close to his elder brother. The accident that caused Mathieu’s passing was, in part, Raymond’s fault even though he tried to correct the accident afterward. Raymond has since lived with guilt over the loss. Pierre’s accusation of the same thing only made it worse.

Dominique Tasse; Niece – Dominique is the older of Raymond’s two nieces. Although Marielle gets a heartier dose of spoilages out of habit, Raymond does his best to not play favorites too much when both children are in the room. Dominique tends to terrify her uncle by wheedling him into going on rollercoasters with her, and Raymond has begun to teach Dominique fencing.

Marielle Tasse; Niece – The youngest of his nieces (thus far), Raymond loves spoiling this little girl and treats her very much like the daughter he’s not yet had. Raymond is particularly known for taking Marielle to magical and muggle cinemas.

Audrey Bishop; Ex-wife – Raymond would never admit it to anyone, including himself, but he is sincerely afraid of Audrey. The abuse he suffered at her hands and the means he had to take to build himself back up physically and financially have since left him with doubts and hesitations.

Melisande Demarchelier; Former Student – ((Info pending))
